A different weekend

Today in the afternoon I am going to Porta, a little village located on the border of France, where my family has an apartment to go to skiing. Naturally we are not going there for skiing today, but to spend three or four days in calm.

So today about 19.00, Jordi is going to pick up my friend Laura and her boyfriend Edu and me. If we are on time, we are going to arrive about 21.30, because there are two hours of trip and we are going to stop in the supermarket of Puigcerdà for buy some food.

We plan to go to Andorra on Friday, so we will have to wake up, have breakfast and take the car because there is about one hour. Once there, we are walking around the city and buying something in the shops. We are having lunch in some Restaurant and in the afternoon we are making the same as in the morning until we get tired. In the evening we are staying at home and after we will have dinner, we could see some movie, play cards and have a drink until go to sleep.

Saturday is going to be “La Diada de Sant Jordi” and our intention is to make the same as on Friday not in Andorra, but in Puigcerdà. I have gone to Puigcerdà a lot of times, but never on this special date, so I am curious about how will be this celebration. I know that it will not be much different from here, but it is just curiosity. I think that in the evening, when we are going to arrive at home, we will give us the gifts of the day. I have bought a book and a wallet for Jordi, Laura only a book for Edu and, Laura and me will have the roses, I love that day.

We have to decide when we are going to come back, on Saturday evening or on Sunday noon. I think that the most probably is that we will chose for Sunday noon, because when you are there, you do not want to come back. Then I am going to make the suitcase and I will have to wait until Jordi arrive.

A very special trip

The students of one year less of us, this week are in Hemel Hempstead, a town in Hertfordshire, England. We also went there one year ago, I remember it perfectly. It was very special. For me it was the first trip outside of Spain that I went with the school and it served to make friends with some other students.

Laura and I went together in the same family, I do not remember which their name was but what I remember is that they were very kind, cheerful and treated us very well. We always had the breakfast ready when we woke up in the morning, in the evening we had dinner all together and some nights, we also watched some TV programs or movies while we were talking with them about the day, what we had visited...

One day we went to Cambridge, where I had always wanted to go because I have gone to England in several times but I never had been in this city and furthermore, because my sister Núria had been living there for two months the winter before we went. Of course, we also went to London, but this time the visit was quite different than the other times I had been there. Obviously we went to see Big Ben and London Eye, but we went to see London Street and Camden town, too. Two sites in London which had always heard about it but that I had never been, and possibly, some of the best experiences that I will remember of England.

What I will never forget of this trip will be Wembley Stadium. I remember that when we entered in the corridors and in the changing rooms I was very excited, but that when we went through the tunnel, as the professional football players do, and we came out onto the football pitch, my legs were trembling. I thought that I was in the site where the professional football players are and that in this particularly, in Wembley, the Barça’s footballers would be playing and winning the final of the Champions League 2011.

We went to many more places, but those I have described were which I liked more. I hope that students now are in London, everyone will enjoy just as well that us.
